QC@UCI first became an official UCI club during Fall 2019.
The idea of QC@UCI was born in the Summer of 2019 when Tony Tong and Omar Costa Hamido met in Switzerland at the Quantum Information for Developers summer school at ETH, Zürich.

Diptanshu is a second-year computer science student at UC Irvine. He is interested in quantum machine learning algorithms and has over three years of experience in the quantum software field.

Shion is a PhD student in computer science at UC Irvine. He is interested in theoretical computer science, specifically computational geometry and quantum computing. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, baking, and taking walks.
